Mike Shayne had a three-issue run in the comics, starting in 1961 and published by Dell.
Here's a description of the series from ComicBase :
Mike Shayne is a tough-talking, hard-fighting private investigator whose hair changed from red to blonde over the course of this three-issue series from Dell. His adventures reveal that Shayne is definitely smarter than the criminal element, which includes smugglers, thieves, and murderers. The
mysteries are fairly straightforward fare, but the artwork is gorgeous, especially the painted covers. The backup features are short, self-contained mysteries with no continuing characters--interesting enough, but fairly predictable.

The stories were written by Ken Fitch and drawn by Lee Ames and Edd Ashe. They are as follows: "The Private Practice of Michael Shayne" appearing in the first issue (November 1961-January 1962), "Bodies Are Where You Find Them" in the second (February-April 1962) and "Heads...You Lose" in number
three (September-November 1962). Special thanks to the Thrilling Detective Web Site for the aforementioned information.
